How to play

1. A single word is shown in large letters.
2. Your child says each sound, then the whole word.
3. Tap “Show the sounds” if help is needed, then “I read it”.

What it teaches

Reading short words alone, sound by sound, without guessing from a picture.

Which level?

Each level adds a few letter-sounds. Level 2 uses s, a, t, p, i, n, m and d. Higher levels add more. Every word in the game uses only the sounds of the level you choose. See the sounds in each level, or answer a few questions to find your child’s level.

Good to know

• It runs in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer. There is nothing to install.
• No sign-up and no ads. Stars and progress are kept on your own device.
• A grown-up sits with the child. The game cannot hear your child read, so you decide what counts as read.
